The Biosphere Academy
An important part of the biosphere reserve’s activities is to support education in environmental and sustainability issues in the area. Our strong belief is that the more you learn about how the environment and the communities in the archipelago work, the more you want to protect them. Therefore, a large part of our activities revolve around various educational projects, which are primarily aimed at children and young people.
The Biosphere Academy is the umbrella term for all the educational activities of the Archipelago Sea Unesco Biosphere Reserve. The academy was started in 2019. The homepage in Swedish and Finnish (https://biosfar.fi/biosfarakademin/) gives an overview of all the activities within the Academy, including the Kid´s Lab at the Archipelago Centre Korpoström, The Pike and his gang aimed at children in kindergarten, the adventure route; The Island Expedition, and the activities of our Youth Council of the biosphere reserve.
